So my formal was held at Shangri La Hotel but before that, the girls and I arrived at Meriton Service Apartments to do our makeup and hair and get dressed. And the funny thing was that I was lucky enough to have worn the navy dress to Benson's formal because Ren had the exact red dress as the one I was wearing for my formal. Anyways, after we got ready and took a few snapshots, Ellen and Vicki's parents drove us to Circular Quay to the place where we were going to hold our formal!

We arrived just on time and it had started to sprinkle~
All of us walked down the stairs of the grand hotel entrance, we found out that everyone had already started to enter the waiting room and we were the last ones to be checked in. But any who, we were still on time and were offered refreshments in pretty glasses before being led into the ballroom.
The ballroom was decorated really nicely as all the tables had a vase with pretty little ornaments on trees and they even had candles!!! Yeah.. I was pretty excited because I just love anything candle related. ((:
Our table was right in front of the dance floor so we were able to see everything that was happening for the night.

The night began with some entree (YUMMY!), then awards and then mains and after that was hitting the dance floor.
The music on the night consisted of the mainstream rnb dance music which was a lot better than the ones played in the Sydney Boys formal as it was a lot easier to dance to. Also, since we had the photobooth as well in the waiting room, a lot of the girls were lining up with their dates to take photos; and this time we had props to take the photos with: eg. face masks etc. In fact, the line was a lot longer than the one at S.B formal since we are an all girls school and which girl wouldn't like to have their photo taken in a photobooth!?
Oh did I mention that Una's brother was the same photographer for the Sydney Boys formal and ours?? We also got the same host and he recognised Benson and I. LOL!





Anyways, the night was just like any other formal; photos, dancing, eating, more photos and it ran extremely smoothly. So a thumbs up for the formal committee for putting in so much effort to organise it so that it was a perfect night to celebrate our completion of High School; like seriously, we even had dessert and cookies and tea!- I'm just sayin'; in comparison to the S.B formal it was like ten times better. Just kidding! (Even though there is a small amount of truth in every joke.) :D

Anyways after the night ended, we all just headed back to the hotel by a maxi cab and since it was raining, we decided not go karaoke after. Instead, we just popped a few bottles of alcohol into champagne glasses, opened a few bags of snacks and enjoyed the movie "9" followed by a horror movie before heading to bed at 3am- don't worry, everyone's sensible and drank in moderation so nothing happened. (:


This morning though, because we were making bacon for breakfast, one of the girls didn't read the sign in the kitchen indicating that "we shouldn't open the doors when cooking", opened the door and the smoke from the kitchen set off the fire alarm. Therefore the fire brigade rocked up, it was a false alarm and we had to pay an extra $800. I made a joke before the fire brigade came that they were gonna fine us for setting the alarm off and it was the only way the hotel was making money... andddd...it turned out that we were fined so it wasn't really that funny anymore since it had just become reality.
There were 8 of us so basically $100 each... And that's pretty much what happened... lols... $800 for bacon and eggs... yeahhhhh...

I finally finished the HSC!
After my last exam (chemistry), Catherine and Ellen also finished so we all headed towards Chatswood!
We looked around for formal dresses for the girls and then Catherine told us that Daiso is now opened in Australia! And it was right there in Chatswood!
So we headed to the store and WE WERE AMAZED!
The store looked AWESOMESAUCE! Nicely spaced and renovated~
AND EVERYTHING IN THE STORE IS AUD$2.30 AND IMPORTED FROM JAPAN!
They are all everyday products and are of good quality!


We went crazy inside the store and here are the stuff I managed to grab from this awesome place!
I am super happy with my purchases! Especially the hand cream because it is just a new HG item for me! I bought it in Jasmine (since it is my favorite scent in the whole entire world) and it comes in a pretty purple plastic tube and it smells just like jasmine green tea!!! YUMMMMMMM... other than the scent, it absorbs into my skin quickly while instantly moisturizes it without the greasy sticky feeling. I can seriously say, I love this more than my Crabtree and Evelyn handcreams.


As we headed out of Daiso, we encountered a beautiful garden right next to the station with heaps of roses. It was a breathtaking sight and even made Cityrail look decent. It was the perfect way to end our day. ((:


Anyways, I need to take a nap because I've just cleaned my whole room and have been deprived of sleep for some time now~ *dead

HI GUYS!
My last exam is on TOMORROW WEDNESDAY 2/11 (chemistry T~T)!!!!
So that means I'm reopening my Formspring again! ((:
HSC has been pretty nice to me and even though there were some tough times, it was pretty awesome overall!

After exam plans?
mm I am gonna start tutoring for 2U, 3U and 4U Maths.. maybe Chemistry for the new yr11 or 12s~
Maybe get a casual/part time job at an awesome place!
Andddddd start playing mmorpg games again! lols.. yeah.. to be honest, I do miss them. alot. *guilty face
Also, there are plans to go shopping, picnics and just all the fun stuff to make myself forget about the results of the exam.
Oh! And since i'll be heading back to HongKong/China in December, I'll be loading my luggage with new game consoles and the whole Pokemon and Kingdom Hearts collection!!!! YAY!!!!!!! *inside geek giggling
And And And I can't wait for formal since it's the time when everyone can dress up and party the night away!
Anyways that is all I can say for now because I have to get back to my beloved Chemistry past papers. :S

So I had English tutoring with Emily this morning at 10am and then after I finished bubbi picked me up and we headed for a morning coffee at My Sweet Memory in Strathfield. They also opened another one in the city under Shinara and let me just say, their mocha and caramel latte are to die for!! To me personally, their mocha is almost comparable to Max Brenner's mochas with milk chocolate, but for a fraction of the price ($4 for reg and $5 for large vs $6.50 for large).
Anyways after coffee, we headed towards Strathfield library for some hardcore studying. And yes we got stuff done. I finished a 3U and 4U trial paper during my time there so that was good.
It was around 3pm before we decided to head to Homebush for some lunch. Since the Cafe's kitchen closed at 3pm, we decided to head next door and eat some Asian food at Wokk In. That was kinda mediocre... and then I saw the flower shop next to Wokk In opened again. (Since it has run out of business a couple of times before). And then .. something caught my eye.
Other than the bunches of bouquets, there were cute plushies and very girly decorations with nicely packaged hand creams. So I took Benson's hand and walked inside. To my surprise, this flower shop - Petals and Posies actually stocked some goods from Australian brands such as Urban Rituelles and Ecoya. As everyone who knows me well knows that I absolutely loveeeeee nice smelling things - no matter if it's me, my room or anything and I have purchased Urban Rituelle perfumes for a few friends before and I have been eyeing Ecoya's soy waxed candles for a while now since both brands have been on sale on Brands exclusive (a discounted website for branded goods and also the place where I purchased my Lee and Rider jeans and IHana brushes) so I inquired the nice lady who owned the shop about the fragrances of all the candles she had in stock. She was very kind and helpful and soon I was stuck between picking the fragrance candle (with a beautiful glass jar) in sweet pea and jasmine or the lotus flower. At the end of the day, I purchased the Fragrance Candle in Sweet Pea and Jasmine (for AUD$37.95 - it's actually AUD$39.95 on the Ecoya website so I got lucky?) as I liked it more than the other, but Benson preferred the lotus flower. Since the candle burns for up to 55hrs, I guess I'll just have to purchase the other fragrance next time when it's on sale on Brands exclusive or whenever I go back to that flower shop again.
But yeah.. that was basically my day. Actually the candle's burning as I'm typing this and it's delectable~

METRO JAR

Pure, natural soy wax hand poured into a contemporary sand, soda ash and lime glass jar. 270g, 9.5oz. Up to 55 hours burn time.

Anyways, that was my little haul of the day - sorry about the length but I'm just addicted to nice smelly things so I couldn't let this one pass.
Also did I mention it was Benson and I's 13 month today? (:

Year 12 2011 of St George Girls graduated today!
Ms Whitehead (our year adviser and my chemistry teacher) gave a very funny yet emotional speech. She mentioned some life quotes relating to birds and how they tell us that our world is like an oyster shell. She said this is because oyster shells are easy to open so we can get pearls out of them. But then she contradicted this  with facts about how there is only a 1 in 10,000 chance that we'll ever naturally find a pearl in an oyster shell and that there is only a 1 in 1,000,000 chance that we'll ever get a pearl the size and shape we consider to be valuable. So basically we're telling our kids to dedicate their lives into opening oyster shells for an empty promise. And then she moved on to joking about going to a friend's graduation and not understanding a word of his professor's analogy of life. So she made her own analogy: think of life as a road trip (because she often goes on road trips). Right now, at St George, it's like we're at a car dealership, getting ready to choose our cars for our long trip to the horizon. Some of us will choose Ferraris cause we wanna get to the horizon as quickly as possible, some will choose a laid back van cause we wanna stop and smell the flowers along the way and some will choose Rolls Royce cause we wanna travel in style and be noticed by everyone we past. And during our road trip on the high way, we'll meet some problems like running off into the wrong roads, or the car might break down, and during those moments, we would just have to stop, and think about our situation before bravely reversing and turning back into the main highway. The people in the hall - our parents and friends will guide us and act like the NRMA or RTA people. Whereas Miss Whitehead, will become the little bird who'll fly beside our windows and when we look out, we'll think to ourselves "hey that's the same little bird I saw 20kms back".. and as we keep driving along, we'll eventually not recognise that same little bird... and then Miss said that, however, we should all remember that she'll always be there to watch over us when we burst a tires or run into dead ends etcetc  - at this point Miss bursted out into tears, I cried and so did everyone else. So yeah.. After that everyone got their graduation portfolios and Celia and Winnie gave a brilliant piano performance.


Afterwards, we had a Garden Party with our parents and teachers where we took our last photos in school uniform and my parents and Peter (my brother) bought me a big teddy and a bouquet of flowers.
Vicki also made us cookies!

The day ended with hugs and kisses, and everyone headed off with either friends for a girls night out, or like me, went with their parents for a nice family dinner.

Sorry I've been neglecting you for a while.
It's just been so hectic for the past few week because of trials and the fact that I've started to tutor my brother since he's going to yr11 next yr... I never knew preparing tutor work was so time consuming! O x O;;
mm. I graduate in approximately a month. Last day of school is on the 20th of September and our graduation is on the 23rd. *sigh...
Gees.. time sure goes by fast. :S
Trials results come out in the following 2wks. Lets just hope I did alright. > x <;;
Now it's time to get all the uni applications, scholarships and stuff like that done.
Oh! And also cram for the actual HSC exam which starts in 2months time - 18th of October!

Future plans?
Well.. I'm going back to Hong Kong then China on the 5th of December! Can't wait to see my little cousins!
And buy lots and lots of things. Like.. stationery.. game consoles... books... and especially clothes for uni cause since I've been at school all this time, and we wear school uniform everyday, there was really no need to buy clothes. But that will all change in uni. *sighhhhhhhhhhhh gotta start saving up. ):
But yeah!
What else... Oh! I changed my hair!
Are you ready?!

Yeah.. I got my hair trimmed, new fringe and dyed it a darker colour.
Personally I kind of dislike my straight fringe so I'm gonna grow it out. Other than that, it's all good.

Also, Sydney Boys started their trials mid last week, so Benson's been studying very hard.
This means that I haven't been able to see him for a while.. and that I can't bug him, but to support him instead. And because I've finished my trials, I was able to help him with his studies here and there and it just feels very nice that I have the power to do so. :D
He finishes next week Tuesday. So.. it'll be a while. (:

mm.. That's it I guess!
I'll try to write more often from now on since all school assessments are finished!

I took the UMAT exam at 1:30pm inside the SYDNEY SHOWGROUND today.. and all I have to say is that: it was hard. lols
..Well atleast harder than all the medentry and face to face papers that I did. And trust me, I finished plenty.
But the thing is, the practice papers did help with my way of thinking.
So it wasn't really a waste of time doing them.
mm all in all, I hope I did well. hahas. ((:
And I hope everyone else failed. lols. joking.
But there was a huge mixture of kids from private schools, selective schools, normal schools, even uni kids taking the exam today.. so.. hahahs.

Not very confident. :O

A few of us went to the Talented Students Day organised by the MANSW (Maths Associations of NSW) at USYD today.
When we arrived, we noticed that half the lecture hall were filled with Fort St kids and we were the only school in mufti. But then again, Mr.H did tell us to wear something that would define us as nerds, something like the Harry Potter scar on our foreheads. I know.. Bad Joke.
But yeah. It felt awkwardly good to be the only ones not in uniform. hahahs
First was the intro speech by the dean of the Maths department. And then came the award for the 1st state ranker in both 3U and 4U maths from the previous year, Miss Law. And she was from Ruse (wasn't surprised), who is currently doing a bachelor of Law/Adv Science (Mathematics) at USYD. And they also handed out the medals for the students who went to the succeeded in getting into the summer camp back in yr11.
Then came the motivational speech by the Co-Host of Letters and Numbers on SBS, Lily Serna, an honours student in mathematics at UTS. She told us about the career paths we can take with maths; other than the obvious choice of engineering. In fact, she was only a 3U student herself, so it really doesn't take much, you just need to have a passion for it. However, what she didn't know was that the whole lecture room was filled with just 4U students and since she started asking us if we knew what differentiation was, we all kind of took her words as a joke; and of course, some were quite offended.

Afterwards was morning tea followed by 2 lectures in some university styled maths problems based on the things we already know; topics like mechanics, series, complex numbers, just the general stuff.
Those were poorly done because the lecturers were not very engaging resulting in some students falling asleep and others just bored out of their minds. I on the other hand, hadn't eaten anything the whole morning and my stomach had started to grumble. So I wasn't able to concentrate either, but thank god I didn't embarrass myself by allowing my tummy to grumble too loud. (:

Lunch was pretty good sine the cafe in the Law building has quite nice baguettes. And I liked how they actually had chefs in the open kitchen and they even have a bar! To be safe, I ordered a Vietnamese Roll with a Caramel Latte made by a very cute guy who had a very enticing European accent but most of all, knew how to spell my name right! :D

Then came our last 2 sessions of HSC Exam Preparation Lectures for our 4U topics. They were excellent! Gave us great tips on how to shorten our working and reduce time on some questions! But one complaint many students had was that for every topic, we only had less than an hour. So much of the work was rushed or skipped. Lucky they gave us the notes to read in our own time instead.

It was a very tiring day, considering I only had 3hrs of sleep the night before. But it was worth the $20 I guess; like a quick crash course with tutors that are actual HSC markers. hahahs.
OH! And I also saw Cici and Alanna there at the lecture so that was nice. :D
Anyways, that's about it!
Gotta get back to studying for Trials.
GOODLUCK TO EVERYONE WHO ARE DOING THEIRS NOW OR SOON OR ALREADY DID THEM! ((:

OH! And UMAT IS IN A WEEK (27/07) SO GOOD LUCK TO  EVERYONE WHO HAS THEIRS AT 8AM! hahahs. 1:30PM FOR ME! WOOOOOO

It wasn't as bad as I thought. But Kogarah was certainly much more colder, like the wind was "icy" and I was just shivering the whole day. And everything seemed to past quite slow today.. compared to the holidays at least.
And I ended up working through my 2 free periods and lunch! *feels good

We finish early by half an hour on Tuesdays and since Zahav (childhood friend for 10yrs!) texted me to catch up after school, I went to meet up with him and we had our chat over a cup of coffee at Gloria Jeans.

And now I'm home at 5pm, just before it rained as well! :D

I went to the State Library of New South Wales with Benson today at 11am to study our a**es off.
Luckily, a lot of other people like Selina.J, Howard.T, Michelle.W and Michael.N were there so it made our hardcore study time more fun! (:

mm I got really hungry at around 4pm so we went to grab some food at Martin Place.
I guess the only place near the library was the food court and a maccas. So we ended up having the most romantic lunch! MACCASSSS! LOL Just joking - it's like a personal joke between Benson and I.
Anyways after we ate, we just went back to the library to study some more..
The whole day, I had to finish some ext2 maths trial papers and Benson was working on chemistry.
Yeah.. that was pretty much it.


We were meant to go watch Harry Potter prt2 at 3:30pm or 4:30pm at George St Event Cinemas, but didn't get the chance to because I insisted on finishing everything before I could leave the library.

On Friday, Sophia from our maths class signed out and is leaving for Stanford University in California, US. It's not surprising that she made it in as she is smart to the max! I mean she was even specially invited to a university in China at the beginning of last year, and came back half way through the year with a new maths degree. Talk about obtaining stack loads qualifications early!

Went to University of Sydney today for a chemistry kickstart workshop.
We had to pay $25 to do some experiments linked to the 'monitoring and management' topic which were too expensive to perform at school. Usually schools would just assume the results and learn about the experiments via textbooks but it was nice that we were able to get a first hand experience.

The course actually got pushed back by an hour which I wasn't very happy about and so all our experiments were done sloppily due to the time constraint. This also meant that the instructors had to skip certain explanations and procedures in the experiments which wasn't preferable, Luckily they supplied us with a booklet which had most of the information inside and we were very time efficient and managed to not make any mistakes during our experiments therefore was able to finish the pracs before the 2hrs we had inside the lab.

Also the equipments they had were very traditional and dated and the lab coats they gave us had pen*ses drawn on the back. But other than that, there's not much to complain about.
The instructors were very casual and nice, some were a little more socially inept than others but it was all good.

Overall it was an okay experience, but poorly managed.

This means I won't be able to celebrate my birthday on Saturday since 4U is on the following Monday. grrrrr
why couldn't they just fit my whole exam schedule on the first week !?? T ~ T;

I officially dropped down to 10Units today with a sad byebye to Ms Dooner and her French Class.
She tried so hard to convince me to stay. Saying that "only 1 girl got band 5 last yr with the rest all on band 6s" but the truth is, I just can't manage to waste anymore of my time on extra units. The main reason is that extII maths is very demanding and I just can't afford to keep extra units which are apparently my "safety nets", whereby in reality is what's actually pulling me down and draining me out.
But it was a very emotional moment for us both. She's just such a sweet teacher! )))):

But yeah.. Now I have to do well in all my subjects because they will all count!
Hope I don't regret this decision later on though.
FIGHTINGGGG!
