connie and irene's bday party!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CONNIE AND IRENE!Well, it's going to be their birthdays and to celebrate, they invited me to their party at Huy's cribbb in Revesby.
After my driving lesson that morning, Benson and I drove to Huy's place a little later than everyone else and upon arrival was greeted with surprise photos taken by Maria&Co. I gave Connie and Irene their presents and then we set off to the guest room to find everyone sitting there all excited to start the challenges/games.
First, it was a game of shaking off the sticky notes, then the pocky game and the challenges ended with chubby bunny. Highlight? Well, during the pocky game, Benson was one of the participants along with the drunk Raymond, andddd they very nearly kissed. But.. Sandy and Connie, they actually did kisssss! LOL! Oh! and Janet was just soo adorable during the chubby bunny game. heheh.
-image-
Then came the karaoke, cake cutting andddd group photos! (:
-image-
Most of the people left after that and with less than half the group left, we continued the games with a mix of chinese whispers and draw something. After that, I got a little hungry but soon found out that they had already finished eating the food that was meant to be bbq as we had arrived late. And so Benson and I excused ourselves and left for pho at Bankstown. We were first determined to go eat at the club but then since I wasn't 18 yet, pho had to suffice. But it was still good! As the pho at Bankstown is yummmo!!!!
After pho, Benson just drove me home and we both called it a day~

Eat. Shop. Cafes. in Korean Town
I went to stratty with Janet today because we wanted to have some girl to girl, catch up, D&M time!Anyways since I had my driving lesson at 10:30am to 12:30pm (no I didn't run anyone over and I'm actually a decent driver), we decided to meet at Strathfield Station at 2pm.
However, as I got on the train and walked up the stairs to take a seat, a random Asian girl started frantically waving at me - and it was only then that I realised that girl was Janet! hahahs. It was literally like fate brought us together. She didn't actually realise it was me until I took my seat as well. :3
It had started to rain after we got off our train and with an umbrella in hand, we made our way to Arisun for lunch - a Korean/Chinese restaurant that Janet usually eats in with her family. It took us a while to decide on what we wanted to eat but we ended up getting a Jajangmyun and a Seafood Fried Rice to share. It was cute how Janet had to speak Korean to the waiters every time we wanted something because I have always had an issue eating in the restaurants in Strathfield as I'm not Korean and I can't speak Korean so it's always extremely awkward trying to get my order straight and eating in comfort - anyone else feel the same? or is it just me. :S
We were given 3 side dishes - kimchi, pickled radish and onion as well as tea and when the black bean noodles came, Janet stirred it for us as she is the ultimate pro! We started to eat and it was until then that I found a string of hair in the kimchi... I kinda freaked out but didn't make a scene and just .. didn't really eat after that. hahahs. The restaurant itself was busy at all times and the interior was okay - not too bad. The meal ended up to be $23 but since I had the hair incident, I have been traumatised and don't think I'll ever go back there ever again.
After our meal, we decided to go for a coffee break and went to My Sweet Memories! Unfortunately, all their tables were filled so I suggested for us to go to Hello Happy! Once inside, Janet ordered our drinks in Korean again (heheh) and I got a Caramel Macchiato ($5) and Janet ordered a Flat White ($4). After our order, we just sat down and talked about life and things that mattered to us - sometime about the people around us - just basically everything that in some way would or have affected us.. hahahs. It was a very light hearted D&M session and incredibly, 3hrs flew by just like that. We're both people who like to just sit down in cafes and just chat and with so many things in common, we really don't run out of things to say so really, it was our way of spending time and having fun. (:
Oh btw, the caramel macchiato was actually very nicely presented and it tasted fantastic! Can never go wrong with Hello Happy and I have been a fan since yr11. :D
Luvo Roll
We left Hello Happy after realising that we had sat at that same spot on the orange couch for quite a while and after we exited the cafe, Janet took me to Moochi - a frozen yoghurt cafe that apparently everyone had been raving about. It was quite packed and we just rushed our order - Me: a watermelon yoghurt with mango pieces and Janet: a green tea yoghurt with blueberries for $3-4? The frozen yoghurt comes in a swirl, housed in paper cups with the real fruit pieces on the side for u to scoop and enjoy. Other than the fruit options, there were also gummi bears, cereals, chocolate and other nifty little sweets to fulfill your sweet tooth. The watermelon flavour wasn't very nice as it didn't have that authentic watermelon taste, but Janet's green tea yoghurt was actually like green tea ice cream so it tasted a lot better than mine.
We just ended up enjoying our dessert on the little plastic chairs outside the store and after we were done, we left and went towards Morning Glory to waste some time before heading home together. (:
@ Strathfield Station
Officially enrolled
I went to UNSW (University of New South Wales) this morning with Zahav, Angela, Benson, Irene, Roger, Maria and Mabel to collect our UNSW student cards. Benson and Angela was late so Zahav and I headed to Gloria Jeans for some iced coffee (since it was superrrr hot) before meeting up at eddy avenue bus stop! When we arrived at UNSW, we had to walk a longgggg way up in the sun before reaching the office and was then redirected to the library. Once we entered the library, we were offered freebies by a guy and of course we took them! Inside were some pamphlets, a 2Gb USB and a cute highlighter wheely thing! (:
We all took turns to take our Uni Student Card photo and it turned out that because the lighting was so bad, everyone basically looked horrendous in their photo; especially the ones of Benson and Zahav's.
After leaving the uni, I headed to Sushi Hotaru under Kinokuniya (in the Galeries) with Angela n Zahav while the others went to Chat Thai downstairs in food court. The food there was mediocre and the space for the tables and seating were tiny, but since they had a deal where it was $3 a plate for any sushi train dish, we were okay with what we got.
Were rushed to eat so wasn't able to take pictures of food. This is a photo Angela took with her phone
Oh and angela and zahav also got their hands moisturised at the LUSH store. (:
Then we went to starbucks in hopes of finding an air conditioned place to chill since we were just sweating nonstop in the summer heat, but people who weren't even drinking were bagging the seats so we walked out and went to Secret cafe.
We sat down on the outside tables and lounge and we each ordered a drink: me-affogato, Benson-peach iced tea, Zahav-strawberry milk shake, Angela-spring water and played big 2 and poker together.
Benson somehow tried to make the game more exciting by deciding who the winner was with the person who ended up with the most chips from poker set. Benson won the whole game of big 2, Angela left for home and then I played poker for the first time in my life and won every game! YAY!
Then we played a couple of games of pool and headed to Mappen across the road for dinner: udon, tempura and seaweed all under 10bux, hell yeah!

St George Girls Yr12 Formal
So my formal was held at Shangri La Hotel but before that, the girls and I arrived at Meriton Service Apartments to do our makeup and hair and get dressed. And the funny thing was that I was lucky enough to have worn the navy dress to Benson's formal because Ren had the exact red dress as the one I was wearing for my formal. Anyways, after we got ready and took a few snapshots, Ellen and Vicki's parents drove us to Circular Quay to the place where we were going to hold our formal! We arrived just on time and it had started to sprinkle~
All of us walked down the stairs of the grand hotel entrance, we found out that everyone had already started to enter the waiting room and we were the last ones to be checked in. But any who, we were still on time and were offered refreshments in pretty glasses before being led into the ballroom.
The ballroom was decorated really nicely as all the tables had a vase with pretty little ornaments on trees and they even had candles!!! Yeah.. I was pretty excited because I just love anything candle related. ((:
Our table was right in front of the dance floor so we were able to see everything that was happening for the night.
the menu; pretty ornaments
The music on the night consisted of the mainstream rnb dance music which was a lot better than the ones played in the Sydney Boys formal as it was a lot easier to dance to. Also, since we had the photobooth as well in the waiting room, a lot of the girls were lining up with their dates to take photos; and this time we had props to take the photos with: eg. face masks etc. In fact, the line was a lot longer than the one at S.B formal since we are an all girls school and which girl wouldn't like to have their photo taken in a photobooth!?
Oh did I mention that Una's brother was the same photographer for the Sydney Boys formal and ours?? We also got the same host and he recognised Benson and I. LOL!
Anyways, the night was just like any other formal; photos, dancing, eating, more photos and it ran extremely smoothly. So a thumbs up for the formal committee for putting in so much effort to organise it so that it was a perfect night to celebrate our completion of High School; like seriously, we even had dessert and cookies and tea!- I'm just sayin'; in comparison to the S.B formal it was like ten times better. Just kidding! (Even though there is a small amount of truth in every joke.) :D
And how can I forget; a photo of me and bubs. (:
Nawhhhh. Now isn't he adorabubbles? (:
Anyways after the night ended, we all just headed back to the hotel by a maxi cab and since it was raining, we decided not go karaoke after. Instead, we just popped a few bottles of alcohol into champagne glasses, opened a few bags of snacks and enjoyed the movie "9" followed by a horror movie before heading to bed at 3am- don't worry, everyone's sensible and drank in moderation so nothing happened. (:
left to right:
top: view from Cat's room (you can see Sydney Boys!); view from my room
bottom: the girls chilling; night view from the living room
This morning though, because we were making bacon for breakfast, one of the girls didn't read the sign in the kitchen indicating that "we shouldn't open the doors when cooking", opened the door and the smoke from the kitchen set off the fire alarm. Therefore the fire brigade rocked up, it was a false alarm and we had to pay an extra $800. I made a joke before the fire brigade came that they were gonna fine us for setting the alarm off and it was the only way the hotel was making money... andddd...it turned out that we were fined so it wasn't really that funny anymore since it had just become reality.
There were 8 of us so basically $100 each... And that's pretty much what happened... lols... $800 for bacon and eggs... yeahhhhh...
SYD BOYS FORMAL
Today was Bubbi's Sydney Boys Year 12 formal at the Hilton Hotel. Before we went to the actual formal, Carl, Ren and I went to Benson's house to get ready!
I had to do Ren and my makeup and hair in a matter of around 2-3hrs and after that, we took the cab towards Townhall; where we went to the hotel and lined up to try to get into the ballroom where the formal was held.
But yeah. The night was filled with hard style, dubstep music, sore feet, photobooth, sweaty boys and Howard getting whipped by Selina (lol).
We were fed a salad entree and a roast chicken with mashed potato main.
Other than the fact that they didn't serve us dessert, it was a fun night! ((:
11/11/11 PICNIC
So today was the special day of 11/11/11!!! The day where you're meant to make your wishes all day longggg~Anyways, bubbi and I decided to have a picnic at Pyrmont Point Park aka Pirrama Park!
We met up at Townhall and took the bus at York St with all our picnic goodies - Benson brought an esky and most of the food/drink and tools while I had the kite, sausages, drinks and other little stuff~ yeah he was really well prepared as always and I just appreciate how much effort he puts into our little outings all the time. <33
The weather turned out to be extremely good, like super sunny considering that it was raining for the past week.
We arrived at the park and the bus driver was extremely nice to tell us to enjoy our day when we were getting off. :3
They renovated the park since the last time I went with new children equipment area and fountain and all that good stuff so I was very excited to show Benson around. Also the reason why I chose this park was because you could see the Anzac Bridge and the Harbour Bridge! It's extremely well managed and you get grass, concrete, wharf and the sea, what more could you ask for?
Anyways we found a nice little shady spot with tables, benches, modern electric BBQs and water - basically just everything that we needed for a perfect picnic - and we started to set up our stuff to start cooking all the chicken we had. Bubbi was in charge of cooking the meat cause he thinks he's awesome with BBQs and I was helping to chop all the vegetable up!
The food took a while to cook but it was all good because we got to spend time each having a go at poking at the meat and all that fun stuff! There were a lot of pigeons trying to steal our food, they even went to the extent of stepping over the BBQ stove once we were done cooking....
After we finished our yummylicious food, we decided to go fly a kite. We both have never flown a kite before so I decided to buy a kite so that we'd experience flying one together for the first time in our lives. The wind was pretty much going everywhere but after a long and tedious battle with the ocean wind, we managed to make it fly. It flew for around 5mins and came crashing down before we weren't able to fly it anymore no matter how hard we tried. And so, we surrendered and set off to Dixon Pool to find "the boys" and Ren. (:
After a few rounds of pool, we all waved goodbye to Ren and headed off to Kabow for some korean food. Jess and Selina arrived and everyone started to order alcohol. Benson and I decided to leave before everyone got smashed as they do get very crazy when they are drunk - eg. Tony pouring the cup of sake on himself and saying that no one poured any in his cup.
Anyways, after we left, bubbi had to show me a surprise and took me to Darling Harbour to light up candles as a form of making a wish on 11/11/11. It was super sweet and even though the candles didn't light up because of the strong wind, I was very appreciative of his efforts. x))))))
It was just sooooo sweet. But yeah. After we made our wishes, we headed back to Townhall station before it started to rain.
SO MANY STARSSSS SO MAKE A WISH!!!
DAISO VENTURE
I finally finished the HSC!After my last exam (chemistry), Catherine and Ellen also finished so we all headed towards Chatswood!
We looked around for formal dresses for the girls and then Catherine told us that Daiso is now opened in Australia! And it was right there in Chatswood!
So we headed to the store and WE WERE AMAZED!
The store looked AWESOMESAUCE! Nicely spaced and renovated~
AND EVERYTHING IN THE STORE IS AUD$2.30 AND IMPORTED FROM JAPAN!
They are all everyday products and are of good quality!
We went crazy inside the store and here are the stuff I managed to grab from this awesome place!
I am super happy with my purchases! Especially the hand cream because it is just a new HG item for me! I bought it in Jasmine (since it is my favorite scent in the whole entire world) and it comes in a pretty purple plastic tube and it smells just like jasmine green tea!!! YUMMMMMMM... other than the scent, it absorbs into my skin quickly while instantly moisturizes it without the greasy sticky feeling. I can seriously say, I love this more than my Crabtree and Evelyn handcreams.
As we headed out of Daiso, we encountered a beautiful garden right next to the station with heaps of roses. It was a breathtaking sight and even made Cityrail look decent. It was the perfect way to end our day. ((:
Anyways, I need to take a nap because I've just cleaned my whole room and have been deprived of sleep for some time now~ *dead
lalalalaaaaa feels so good to be school-less.
(:
IMATS 2011 SYDNEY
So I went with Katharine.L to IMATS (SYD) today - we paid AUD$30 each for our tickets. We got to the exhibition centre at Darling Harbour at around 12:30pm and left at 3:30pm.This year the known stores like MAC PRO, INGLOT, MAKE UP FOREVER (MUFE), ILLAMASQUA, NAPOLEON PERDIS and BEN NYE were there.
I manage to only pick up some stuff from Crown Brushes, Inglot and MUFE since most of the stores were full of people and that I didn't need much things since I'm no professional. I saw some people spending over AUD$600 in one counter and I went wide eyed. I know you can be a professional, but do you really need all that makeup? Since they do have expiry dates and all.. :S
Also the Illamasqua counter was very disappointing since I was planning to purchase some stuff there but all they had was a small table of leftovers... that was like 1/500 of their actual collection ):
Some of the stuff I bought are:
Inglot Shadows and Blush:
Overall: The colors 393 and 407 are both pearls whereas 65 and 480 have a lot of silver glitters in them in the pan but does not transfer very much when applied.
All the shadows are extremely pigmented with the exception of 65; I think the black could go a little darker.
Very smooth and they are not powdery.
The blush in 29 is very rich in color and is a matte peachy pink blush leaning more towards the peachy side. Looks extremely natural when applied with a soft hand and is buildable.
393: This is a champagne pearl with a peachy undertone (compared to the other champagne pearls from Inglot) and I love to use this color as an overall highlight. Very versatile.
407: I love to use peachy/copper colors as an all over eye shadow because they give a very sweet yet natural look so I just had to get this color. Perfect when layered on top of my benefit creaseless cream shadow in sippin'n'dippin.
65: I was kind of disappointed with this one as it wasn't as dark as I expected but it will do for a smoky eye look with a little glitter. Looks a lot more lighter than in the pan.
480: Beautiful aqua color with silver sparkles - I had to buy this to match my formal dress.

MUFE Super Matte Loose Powder:
This powder says what it does and keeps my oil at bay all day! I bought the color in 12 which is transparent (I am around an NC25 and my skin is combination - oily) and does not look cakey at all when applied properly with a light hand as it is very finely milled. Does not break me out which is a bonus!
Crown Brushes:
I LOVE THESE BRUSHES! They are super soft and sturdy and does not shed at all when I wash them!
Highly recommended!
Also I managed to meet Purse Buzz and Napoleon Perdis himself.Highly recommended!
There were also some shows and people were being transformed for the contest which was pretty cool.
Overall it was a good experience but I'm still reconsidering about re-attending next year.
After we left the exhibition centre, we went to have lunch at Takeru where Benson turned up after we finished our food and then the weather got really awful rained on us, so we headed towards QVB Townhall where we ventured into Lush and bought some bath bombs.
And then I brought Katharine to the Pitt St Westfields while Benson went around to buy new leather shoes and we walked around until Katharine had to go home and then I met up with Benson again to go to Bryan.D's 18th birthday dinner at Wagaya.
After dinner, we went to have dessert at Meet Fresh and then I headed home!

class of 2011
Year 12 2011 of St George Girls graduated today!Ms Whitehead (our year adviser and my chemistry teacher) gave a very funny yet emotional speech. She mentioned some life quotes relating to birds and how they tell us that our world is like an oyster shell. She said this is because oyster shells are easy to open so we can get pearls out of them. But then she contradicted this with facts about how there is only a 1 in 10,000 chance that we'll ever naturally find a pearl in an oyster shell and that there is only a 1 in 1,000,000 chance that we'll ever get a pearl the size and shape we consider to be valuable. So basically we're telling our kids to dedicate their lives into opening oyster shells for an empty promise. And then she moved on to joking about going to a friend's graduation and not understanding a word of his professor's analogy of life. So she made her own analogy: think of life as a road trip (because she often goes on road trips). Right now, at St George, it's like we're at a car dealership, getting ready to choose our cars for our long trip to the horizon. Some of us will choose Ferraris cause we wanna get to the horizon as quickly as possible, some will choose a laid back van cause we wanna stop and smell the flowers along the way and some will choose Rolls Royce cause we wanna travel in style and be noticed by everyone we past. And during our road trip on the high way, we'll meet some problems like running off into the wrong roads, or the car might break down, and during those moments, we would just have to stop, and think about our situation before bravely reversing and turning back into the main highway. The people in the hall - our parents and friends will guide us and act like the NRMA or RTA people. Whereas Miss Whitehead, will become the little bird who'll fly beside our windows and when we look out, we'll think to ourselves "hey that's the same little bird I saw 20kms back".. and as we keep driving along, we'll eventually not recognise that same little bird... and then Miss said that, however, we should all remember that she'll always be there to watch over us when we burst a tires or run into dead ends etcetc - at this point Miss bursted out into tears, I cried and so did everyone else. So yeah.. After that everyone got their graduation portfolios and Celia and Winnie gave a brilliant piano performance.
getting my graduation portfolio from the principle
Afterwards, we had a Garden Party with our parents and teachers where we took our last photos in school uniform and my parents and Peter (my brother) bought me a big teddy and a bouquet of flowers.
Vicki also made us cookies!

With Buddies:
The day ended with hugs and kisses, and everyone headed off with either friends for a girls night out, or like me, went with their parents for a nice family dinner.

bubbi's graduation - 20/09
Since I won't be very active for the next 2 months, I guess I should give you guys some eye candy for now to make up for my absence.Yesterday was Sydney Boy's Graduation Day and here are a bunch of photos of some sexy little boys that have now grown up! (not really...)
lols. ENJOY LADIES! (or guys.)
Andddd last but not least, a photo of Benson and I.
(it was extremely windy.)
My graduation is on Friday! Excited? not really.. hahahs... :S
not very happy
I haven't been very happy recently so Conan's been nice enough to try to cheer me up.....He suggested for me to go bowling with him and Warren cause we haven't hung out for a while.
So after maths tutor on Tuesday, he came to pick me up and drove me and Ando to Cooks Hill Hotel at Cabra.
There was a huge line and when I got there I was freaked out because it looked so shifty.
The security guard asked us if we were all 18 and the nine of us just said yes. LOL
So we went in and had dinner - everyone had steak and I had fish, and also we played pool.
I left like half of my food and so Warren said it was a waste and everyone just snatched the rest of the food from my plate. LOL.
Ananda finished his salad first.. and started eating everyone else's salad.... until I pointed it out to him in which he claimed that he liked the salad here.. but also bursted out saying FINE I'LL EAT THE STEAK. *angry face* hahahahs
Anyways after a few round of pool.. *I accidentally shot the black ball in SORRY!*
we drove our way to some bowling place at Fairfield... which also looked very shifty.
We ended up not playing because I had a curfew and had to get home before 10pm so everyone had to head home too... *sorry for ruining your night guys!
Butttt yeah. In the end, Conan apologised for making me feel uncomfortable throughout the night in which I said it was alright because he tried. And he then drove me and Ando homeeee~~~
mm I guess it cheered me up a bit seeing that everyone was trying so hard to help me fit in...
but yeah. I guess it's just up to me now to feel better about certain things..
not really helpingggggg........
Also, I just spent liek 500bux on my brothers today.. I mean yesterday since it is 2am now... I'm such a nice sister... lols. jks
hmmmm... guess I should go to sleep now.
Night Night.

UNSW OPEN DAY + ELLEN'S BDAY OUTING
I went to UNSW open day with Benson and my brother, Peter. But they kinda left to engineering lectures while I went to the business info desks so afterwards while they were stuck inside their lecture, I bumped into Kevin Wu and we kinda caught up on things since I haven't really talked to him since he left mono which was in yr9.
To me personally, UNSW open day was more informative than any other open day.
After a while, I left with Peter to Ellen's Bday lunch! while Benson went with "the boys" to play soccer.
We ate at Musashi ~~ mmmmmm.... and karaoke at K1!
And finally, we finished the day with photos at Capitols~

USYD OPEN DAY 2! - sorry no photos
As you guys all know, I went to the USYD Open Day today. (:This time, i went with my brother Peter, my childhood friend Zahav and my bubbi Benson. But along the way, we met up with "the boys" - (Syd Boys like to call each other that i guess?), Benson's school mates and hung with them.
There was track work at the western line today so it made it more difficult to get around. grr.
So I planned to meet Zahav at the station and Benson at the university. But instead, Peter slept in so Zahav, tired of waiting, walked from the station to my house and met up with us along the way.
On the bus and train towards the university, we met a lot of familiar faces. Like people from school and tutor etc. And one of them was Shirley from economics tutor.
When we finally reached the university, Benson arrived eventually and Zahav ran off with Shirley to a Speech Pathology lecture. Benson and I decided that speech pathology wasn't our thing so we just walked towards the Economics lecture. When we got there, Howard and "the boys" came and we just went in together.
They didn't tell me things that I already didn't know so it wasn't very interesting for me. Half way through the lecture, Everyone in the group walked out except for me, Howard and friend- Benson and Peter went to the aeronautical lecture for me because I was interested in it.
After the lecture finished, the friend walked off and Howard and I just went to buy food cause we were hungry. I ended up paying $25 for 3 crappy sandwiches and 2 bottles of water. The water wasn't even from Mt Franklins or anything - for Benson and Peter as well of course.
We walked to a bench under a big tree next to the law building and had lunch there... awkward moment.... and after we finished, we decided to go find Benson. Along the way, we bumped into Carl and Dennis? and made our way towards Subway. Seeing it was full of people, we walked to the opposite cafe and they ordered a toasted sandwich and a lasagne respectively. Those costed less than the shitty sandwich I had and I just complained to Howard about how we could've gotten better food....
Benson, at this time was still playing with the flight simulator with my brother... and then when a little more boys came, Benson finally turned up with my brother. And then even more boys came and Benson, Peter and I just went to Subway. And then Zahav came back to us and he took me to the toilet. (:
When I came back, all the boys already went to game at net cafe, and only Carl and Dennis? stayed behind to wait for Ren. But Ren had some problems with her parents letting her to come out so we decided to leave USYD and go to City. :S
We all then took the bus to Townhall, to check what "the boys" were were up to. They were still at the game cafe and because non of us wanted to game, we just went to watch a movie. I suggested "Horrible Bosses" and so we watched it. It was a hilarious movie, dirty jokes, but it was good. I felt as if it was sometimes overdone, but it still kept me relatively entertained... not really towards the end, but the beginning and middle was okay. I mean, Carl and Dennis? literally ROFL'd. Like.. literally rolled off their chairs and onto the floor.
After the movie, "the boys" including Benson had to attend Corny's Birthday party (HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY!), so I took Zahav and Peter to dinner at Takeru.
Peter had a Ramen, I had an OmuSoba and Zahav, as white as he was, ordered a Spaghetti.
After dinner, we just went home because it was dark.
mm that was about it! Long and tiring day with lots of walking.
Didn't get much out of it (like always) and time passed so fast.
Sorry about not getting any photos though! My brother had my bag which had my camera in there so I didn't get to snap anything by the end of the day.
But yeah.. UNSW OPEN DAY NEXT SATURDAY ON THE 3RD OF SEPTEMBER.
I'll be there too and hopefully be able to get more out of it than the USYD one.

Talented Students Day
A few of us went to the Talented Students Day organised by the MANSW (Maths Associations of NSW) at USYD today. When we arrived, we noticed that half the lecture hall were filled with Fort St kids and we were the only school in mufti. But then again, Mr.H did tell us to wear something that would define us as nerds, something like the Harry Potter scar on our foreheads. I know.. Bad Joke.
But yeah. It felt awkwardly good to be the only ones not in uniform. hahahs
First was the intro speech by the dean of the Maths department. And then came the award for the 1st state ranker in both 3U and 4U maths from the previous year, Miss Law. And she was from Ruse (wasn't surprised), who is currently doing a bachelor of Law/Adv Science (Mathematics) at USYD. And they also handed out the medals for the students who went to the succeeded in getting into the summer camp back in yr11.
Then came the motivational speech by the Co-Host of Letters and Numbers on SBS, Lily Serna, an honours student in mathematics at UTS. She told us about the career paths we can take with maths; other than the obvious choice of engineering. In fact, she was only a 3U student herself, so it really doesn't take much, you just need to have a passion for it. However, what she didn't know was that the whole lecture room was filled with just 4U students and since she started asking us if we knew what differentiation was, we all kind of took her words as a joke; and of course, some were quite offended.
Afterwards was morning tea followed by 2 lectures in some university styled maths problems based on the things we already know; topics like mechanics, series, complex numbers, just the general stuff.
Those were poorly done because the lecturers were not very engaging resulting in some students falling asleep and others just bored out of their minds. I on the other hand, hadn't eaten anything the whole morning and my stomach had started to grumble. So I wasn't able to concentrate either, but thank god I didn't embarrass myself by allowing my tummy to grumble too loud. (:
Lunch was pretty good sine the cafe in the Law building has quite nice baguettes. And I liked how they actually had chefs in the open kitchen and they even have a bar! To be safe, I ordered a Vietnamese Roll with a Caramel Latte made by a very cute guy who had a very enticing European accent but most of all, knew how to spell my name right! :D
Then came our last 2 sessions of HSC Exam Preparation Lectures for our 4U topics. They were excellent! Gave us great tips on how to shorten our working and reduce time on some questions! But one complaint many students had was that for every topic, we only had less than an hour. So much of the work was rushed or skipped. Lucky they gave us the notes to read in our own time instead.
It was a very tiring day, considering I only had 3hrs of sleep the night before. But it was worth the $20 I guess; like a quick crash course with tutors that are actual HSC markers. hahahs.
OH! And I also saw Cici and Alanna there at the lecture so that was nice. :D
Anyways, that's about it!
Gotta get back to studying for Trials.
GOODLUCK TO EVERYONE WHO ARE DOING THEIRS NOW OR SOON OR ALREADY DID THEM! ((:
OH! And UMAT IS IN A WEEK (27/07) SO GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WHO HAS THEIRS AT 8AM! hahahs. 1:30PM FOR ME! WOOOOOO
First Day of Last School Term
It wasn't as bad as I thought. But Kogarah was certainly much more colder, like the wind was "icy" and I was just shivering the whole day. And everything seemed to past quite slow today.. compared to the holidays at least. And I ended up working through my 2 free periods and lunch! *feels good
We finish early by half an hour on Tuesdays and since Zahav (childhood friend for 10yrs!) texted me to catch up after school, I went to meet up with him and we had our chat over a cup of coffee at Gloria Jeans.
((:
And now I'm home at 5pm, just before it rained as well! :D

Everyday we're stu-studyinggg
I went to the State Library of New South Wales with Benson today at 11am to study our a**es off.Luckily, a lot of other people like Selina.J, Howard.T, Michelle.W and Michael.N were there so it made our hardcore study time more fun! (:
I guess the only place near the library was the food court and a maccas. So we ended up having the most romantic lunch! MACCASSSS! LOL Just joking - it's like a personal joke between Benson and I.
Anyways after we ate, we just went back to the library to study some more..
The whole day, I had to finish some ext2 maths trial papers and Benson was working on chemistry.
Yeah.. that was pretty much it.
We were meant to go watch Harry Potter prt2 at 3:30pm or 4:30pm at George St Event Cinemas, but didn't get the chance to because I insisted on finishing everything before I could leave the library.
TRANSFORMERS! ROBOTS IN DISGUISEEE
Today was the first day screening of Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon in 3D and I went to watch it at Event Cinema in Townhall with Conan junkie after school. Haven't seen him in a year so I guess it was kinda like a reunion for us?mm anyways onto the movie.
first thing's first. ROSIE HUNTINGTON'S BODY IS SOOOOOO HOTTTTTTTT!!!!! The 3D effect made it even more alluring. (:
Overall the movie managed to captivate me and surprisingly kept me awake; even though half of that was because Conan kept throwing popcorns on me throughout the movie.
But yeah. it had an enough amount action, sexy cars that I'd never be able to afford and with a touch of a sexy Victoria Secrets' model.
It kept me on my seat. And i believe it will keep you rather entertained for two and a half hours too.
(:

Smart Cookie
On Friday, Sophia from our maths class signed out and is leaving for Stanford University in California, US. It's not surprising that she made it in as she is smart to the max! I mean she was even specially invited to a university in China at the beginning of last year, and came back half way through the year with a new maths degree. Talk about obtaining stack loads qualifications early! Our maths teacher organised a farewell party where she baked us an apple pie and especially brought in some unwaxed apples fresh from the farm of a friend! She was saying how much better it was better for us and that we didn't have to eat the pie if we didn't want to but she'll just feel very sad about it.
She's so nice and sweet to us! *dies
There were a lot of giggles and during the party, Miss started talking about her past and it was extremely interesting. Not many people would have gone through what she has in her lifetime. But due to privacy matters, I can't talk about the events here.
The party ended with well used paper plates and a few photographs here and there. OH! and a Mechanics solution on the board written by yours truly. LOL!
But yeah. All in all, I wish this smart cookie all the best and it's fantastic that she doesn't have to go through the HSC anymore. hahahs.

2011 school dance
TECHCON 2011: the annual school dance with St George Girls and Sydney TechUs yr12s were allowed to dress up with the theme of "Movie Characters" and our group did Geishas. Other groups included Playboys, Babies, Prisoners of BOS, Disney Princesses, Anime Characters, Mario Brothers ..etc.
mm Overall I wasn't impressed. At All. We were not allowed to take drinks in and when the little canteen place ran out of change, they just closed the store with me holding a $10 note. And this was not even half way through the night! Just imagine how thirsty everyone got afterwards. =.=;
The music was awful as well.. and it was very humid inside the centre...it was just ... bad. ):
But I still managed to enjoy my time with friends so yeah.
Not really worth 10bucks if you ask me. :S
